# Melbourne Airport transfers (MEL)

Melbourne Airport at Tullamarine (MEL) has four terminals. A pre-arranged chauffeur transfer is different from joining a taxi rank or ordering a rideshare at the kerb. Give your flight and terminal before travelling.

## Pickup arrangements
Melbourne Airport describes pre-arranged chauffeur meeting points inside each terminal and has no chauffeur service desk. Follow your confirmed meeting instructions. Public terminal pickup lanes and rideshare zones are not interchangeable with a pre-booked chauffeur meeting point.

## Before arrival
Check that your ticket says MEL, not Avalon (AVV). This guide and the airport quick picks cover Melbourne Airport at Tullamarine; do not select a MEL terminal for an Avalon flight. For international arrivals, plan for immigration and baggage before meeting the driver.

## Onward travel
For a Melbourne CBD apartment or hotel, include its street number and vehicle entrance. Routes may use CityLink; the quote lists priced tolls separately, with any routing limitation disclosed. Hourly hire can suit a day of meetings, while a single airport-to-address journey is a transfer.

## Prices and rules
Economy Sedan: AUD 80 transfer base / AUD 2.20 per extra km / AUD 85 per hour.
Luxury Sedan: AUD 100 transfer base / AUD 3.00 per extra km / AUD 130 per hour.
Economy People Mover: AUD 130 transfer base / AUD 2.80 per extra km / AUD 120 per hour.
Luxury Van: AUD 160 transfer base / AUD 3.40 per extra km / AUD 160 per hour.

Transfer base fares include 15 km; hourly hire minimum 2 hours. These are base fares, not all-in airport-to-city prices.
Airport pickup Meet & Greet name sign AUD 35, automatically added; not added for airport drop-off only. Baby seat (0–3) AUD 25; child seat/booster (3–6) AUD 25 each. Maximum 2 child seats in sedans, 3 in people movers; include children plus at least one adult in the passenger count.
Free waiting: airports 60 minutes; other locations 15 minutes.
Only the highest fare multiplier applies: night 21:00–05:59 ×1.5; state/local public holiday ×2; New Year’s Eve 31 Dec 18:00–1 Jan 05:59 ×4.5. Extras and tolls are not multiplied. Road tolls are itemised at cost; when routing cannot price them, the quote warns that tolls are additional.
Book at least 2 hours ahead using the pickup city’s local time. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup. 50% within 24 hours, 100% within 2 hours or no-show.
Partner promo codes are entered at the final step and reduce fare/extras, not tolls. Pay the driver on the day unless the booking explicitly offers another payment option. A quote request is not a confirmed booking. The booking quote/confirmation controls the actual price and pickup instructions.
